IRDA revises guidelines for Health insurance coverage in Ayurveda Hospitals

In a new development, Insurance Regulatory Authority of India (IRDA) has issued new guidelines for claiming medical reimbursement if treated as an inpatient in any of the Ayurveda Hospitals in the country.

As per new guidelines, for any patient to claim reimbursement of medical expenses incurred during treatment at any Ayurveda Hospitals in the country, the hospital needs to have NABH accreditation. Further the guidelines states that patients can claim reimbursement if treated at any of the hospitals approved by KASH (Kerala Accreditation Standard for Hospitals). These accredited hospitals fall under the purview of Ayush Ministry and hence are certified.
